Every once in a while I like to re-twist my locks with Flax Seed Gel. Flax seeds contain a mega 3, jelly like substance that gets separated from the seeds with boiled in hot water. This jelly is full of omega 3 protein, and nourishment that are great for locks and loose naturals

INGREDIENTS
•6 large scoops of mayonnaise
•2 eggs
•green tea
•nettle extract (optional)

HAIR BENEFITS

MAYO- Mayonnaise contains oils which help nourish and moisturize your hair from deep within. It is considered very useful for dry and damaged hair. It also helps to stop breakage, restores PH balance and strengthens hair follicles.

EGGS- Eggs are rich in protein. Protein helps to make the hair follicle stronger and stronger strands of hair are less likely to break. Therefore, you’ll have fewer split ends. In addition to enhancing resistance to breakage, applying raw eggs to hair also makes it smooth. Smooth hair is easier to brush or comb and less likely to become tangled or knotted. Hair is also made thicker from the protein in raw eggs. This is especially beneficial if you have limp, lifeless hair or if your hair is thinning. Eggs act like a conditioner and moisturize dry hair. Eggs also make dull hair shine because unlike shampoo, eggs maintain the hair’s natural oils, which shampoo strips away.

GREEN TEA-Green Tea promotes growth of hair follicles and stimulates the dermal papilla cells to boost hair production.

NETTLE EXTRACT- Nettle is believed to improve the condition of hair and to prevent hair loss.

HONEY- Honey is an emollient which means it is a natural softener. This makes it a great hair conditioner that smoothens your hair. It is a natural antioxidant, so it tends to make your scalp healthy and stimulate hair growth. As honey is an emollient, it also improves the health of the hair follicles which are responsible for hair growth.

I boiled about 1 1/2 cups of flax seeds this time. It took about 15 minutes. The longer you boil, the thicker the finished product. Take a small grained strainer, mesh strainer or mesh cloth to separate seeds from gel. For extra shine, you can add your favorite oils or even lavender for a great smell.

Let it cool and style hair as usual. Great for reetwists, 2 strand twists, and starter locks. I really like this locking gel because it dries really fast and leaves hair tight and shiny.
