June 1 is quickly approaching and we are excited to host our workshop, Natural Hair Mixology during the 11th annual St. Martin Book Fair.

St. Martin, as well as many other Caribbean islands, hold rich resources of botanical powerhouses that strengthen and support natural hair. We used homegrown and other easily accessible ingredients here on our island and can't wait to show you what we've learned.

In this video, we prepped our hair with our homemade line to bring you a easy updo you can wear on special occasions, at work or in between. Try it and show us your version or results. Enjoy.

Henna Indigo Application on Natural Hair

African Threaded Protective Style for Adults: ♥ 41 ♥ African Threading
For Grown-Ups!:

Thread for used for braiding hair: The same weave thread used for
sew-in weaves. You can find it at any beauty supply store that sells
hair extensions.
The authentic thread used in Ghana is much silkier than weave thread, so if you find your hair doesn't work well with weave thread you can try that, or a silkier synthetic thread from a sewing/craft store. Here's a link to a picture of the authentic thread: – PLEASE NOTE I am not recommending this site, it's just a photo I found on the internet. This thread is a little harder to come by than weave thread. Some African shops carry it. It's also not as strong as weave thread so you may need to double the thread up before braiding.

This technique is very popular with naturalistas because it helps add moisture, seal it, and keep it locked in for a longer period of time.
