Starter Locs/ Dread Locs Using Flax Seed Gel

I make and use my own flax seed gel for twists, coils, curls, starter locs and loc retwists on all my clients. Here, with this client I am starting her dread locs wth a combination of two stand twists and curls. I used about a 1/2 cup worth of Flax seed gel to complete this style.

I added a few drops of Habesha Naturals' Hair Growth Moisturizer and Hot Oil Treatment to the flax seed mixture, this combo acts as a moisturizer, sealant and hold for styling. It took about 3 hours to complete.

My Starter Locs (Two Strand Twists)

I've gotten alot of questions about my experience with starting my locs with two strand twists. In this video, I give you my mess ups, frustrations and overall feelings in the beginning stages. I would advise that you take your time, do research, ask plenty of questions before making it permanent. And if you are just starting out, please don't get discouraged at the slow process, go through it and you will reap the beautiful benefits later. 🙂

So this is technically my third time starting over. Im clearly a very indecisive person but at the moment I know exactly what I want. I can't promise that I will last longer this time but Im not sure how much longer.

I deleted my explanation of why I redid my starter locs by accident. Basically I did not like the size of my boxes. I want small dreads and they were going to be medium sized locs. I show how to do the comb twist method on natural hair and explain afterwards.

Its a shame I had to use all of these products to get the results that I wanted. I now use all natural products and find them to work just as good!
